Thai advertising film director, known throughout the industry as Tor Phenomena. Educated at Montfort College in Chiang Mai, then took a bachelor's degree in architecture at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. Began his career as a Graphic Designer at Samnor Co. Ltd., but wanting to make work that 'makes people feel', moved into directing commercials at Phenomena. The Gunn report record: 2003, most-awarded director in the world; 2004, second; 2005, first again, the same year Phenomena was named the most-awarded commercial production company in the world; and he held the world number-one position again in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Won the Cannes Lions Palme d'Or in 2009. Tcdc records Phenomena as the most-awarded commercial production company in the world with 115 awards. His signature style is deliberately unglamorous: muted, muddy colour, non-professional-looking actors drawn from ordinary people rather than models, and his own distinctive, faintly sarcastic voiceover, which Thai audiences recognise instantly.
