Japanese menswear designer. Graduated Bunka Fashion College in menswear and also attended Coconogacco. Launched soshiotsuki in 2015 and was shortlisted for the lvmh Prize in 2016 after just his second collection. Won the Tokyo New Designer Fashion Grand Prix (2019) and Tokyo Fashion Award (2024). In September 2025 he won the lvmh Prize for Young Fashion Designers, €400,000 plus a year of lvmh mentorship, beating over 2,300 applicants from 115 nationalities. Third Japanese designer ever to win. Known for oversized 1980s-Armani-inspired tailoring that blends Japanese and Western menswear codes: linings slashed in reference to kimono sleeves, jackets wrapped like karate uniforms. Draws on Kabuki, Rakugo and the imagery of the Tokyo salaryman.
