Co-founder of kigi. Graduated Yamaguchi University. Joined Miyata Satoshi Design Office (now draft) in 1986, and continues to direct draft's product brand D-bros. Co-founded kigi with Ryosuke Uehara in 2012. Known for a distinctive visual world spanning textile pattern design, packaging and picture books. Won the 19th Kamekura Yusaku Prize for the packaging of confectionery brand Audrey. Launched fashion brand cacuma with Shigesato Itoi's Hobonichi (2013) and craft brand kikof with Shiga artisans (2014). Published picture books 'brooch', 'Un Deux', 'Jani' and colouring books through Little More.
