Video creator, director and editor, co-founder of PERIMETRON and the director of almost every King Gnu and millennium parade music video. Graduated from the lifestyle design course at nagoya university of arts, which invited him back to give its 50th graduation-show lecture in 2023. First music video: King Gnu’s “Tokyo Rendez-Vous” (2017). Then “It’s a small world” (2018), and Broad Daylight (2019), MTV VMAJ 2019 best video of the year, the same year King Gnu took Best New Artist, a first double in that award’s history; the video has passed 440 Million Views, made with PERIMETRON producer Kento Yoshida, its look built on monochrome texture and Satoru Iguchi’s presence. Since: Brilliant Rain (2022, for the TBS drama Old Rookie), Specialz (2023), Twilight!!! (2025, for the Detective Conan film, “made as if to remake King Gnu from scratch”), Roots (2024, painted animation), and Kenshi Yonezu’s Moongazing (2023), which brought PERIMETRON a new audience. Also live direction, commercials and fashion. The subject of tbs’s Continent of Passion in 2022, and half of a published crosstalk with Taichi Kimura on MV directors moving into film, “the Daniels came from MVs and won the Academy Award; we just have to make good work and silence them”.
