Architect and product designer. Graduated Yokohama National University (Architecture & Building Science, 1996); founded Keiji Ashizawa Design in 2005 under the motto 'Honest Design'. Founder of Ishinomaki Laboratory, created in response to the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Designs across architecture, interiors and furniture for Karimoku, muji, ikea, Panasonic and Audo Copenhagen. Awards include a Good Design Award (top 100) and Aia 2010 National Architecture Award for Wall House. Lectured at the University of Michigan Penny Stamps series.
